Literacy Door County, Inc.

 

Literacy Door County, Inc. was created in March of 2015 by a determined group of volunteers who believed that a literacy program would strengthen Door County through adult education.

 

Our Purpose: To provide one-on-one adult tutoring for basic literacy and English Language Learners (ELL).

 

Our Mission: To share the power of learning English through education.

 

Our Goals:  To provide tutors with training, materials and on-going support.

​

To provide students with materials and on-going support to further their education in the English language and/or to accomplish other established goals.

​

To encourage advocacy throughout the community for our students, recognizing that they enrich Door County in their diversity.

 

Components of the Program: Speaking, Reading, Writing, Math, Citizenship, Cultural Literacy, GED support.
